BlackBerry gains popularity in Indonesia

Developed by the Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM), BlackBerry has started to gain popularity in Indonesia.

The country's biggest operators, Indosat, Telkomsel and Excelcom, already launched this service.

Introduced in 1999, this wireless handheld supports push email, mobile telephone, text messaging, Web browsing and other wireless needs. Pioneered by Indosat three years ago, Indonesia's BlackBerry users have been growing significantly. [more, CNETAsia]
