Indonesia's Indosat nine-month net profit up 56 pct on stronger sales

JAKARTA, Nov. 21, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- Indonesia's second-biggest telecom company PT Indosat (NYSE:IIT) said its net profit for the first nine months rose 56 percent to 1.45 trillion rupiah, helped by stronger sales.Sales increased 34 percent to 11.88 trillion rupiah, with revenue from the cellular business rising 38 percent to 9.15 trillion rupiah.Indosat said its operating profit for the first nine months reached 3.20 trillion rupiah, up 31 percent on the same period in the previous year.
